Objectives

  1. To promote the teaching and learning of English at all levels focusing on the tertiary level through human resource development, education, training, research and linkages with regional and international ELT organizations
  2. To upgrade the quality of teachers through training and academic programmes
  3. To promote new language learning strategies
  4. To provide support to ELT teachers through research and dissemination of knowledge and skills
  5. To develop English language teaching materials and expand English language and literature courses that will aid human resource development
  6. To provide English language related services to the Ministry of Education and the general public
